Finding Programs and Documents in Windows 7

Searching for Programs and Documents
The easiest way to find any document or program in Windows 7 is to utilize the search box on the Windows Orb /Start Menu.  Windows 7 will automatically launch programs needed by your files.  This means that if you open a Word document, Microsoft Word will open with it. 
Start by clicking on the Windows Orb symbol at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
The following menu will pop up.
From here, type in the name of any program or document and click on its link.
Viewing All Programs
  • Click on the Windows Orb / Start Menu in the bottom / right hand corner of the screen.
  • Click on > All Programs directly above the search box.
  • All available programs will pop up.  Slide your cursor above the program you would like and click.
  • The program will automatically launch.
Viewing All Documents
  • Click on the folders icon on your task bar.
  • A window will pop up.
  • Slide your cursor over the left menu to My Documents.  Click.
  • All the files in your H drive will appear in the right side section of the menu.
