Is eLearning for Me?

Start Here!

Learning ONLINE requires a 'self-motivated-can-do' philosophy. To determine if eLearning is for you, consider the following questions:
  • Do I have college-level writing and reading skills?
  • Can I devote 10-15 hours, per week to 1 online class?
  • Do I have access to an Internet connected computer at least 2 hours, per day?
  • Do I have an e-mail acount? (required for eLearning)
  • Am I comfortable with sending file attachments & using a web browser?
  • Quiz: https://www.waol.org/prospective_students/isonline4me_n.asp

Getting Started

If you hesitated to answer yes to the above questions, you may find eLearning challenging. eLearning requires a structured schedule - a balance of your time around the requirements of the course.

You may be required to learn from materials like: textbooks, video, audio, internet articles and written lectures.

Because the online classroom environment is typically missing face-to-face interaction with people, many online classes require web-based online communication interaction between the instructors and/or other students. This often comes in the form of e-mail, discussion boards and chat rooms.
