This is our last day!  Congratulations Ladies!  We did it!  Hope everyone had a great week, I found out on thursday that as of June 1st I will be hired part time at Wallingford Pediatrics!  I'm so excited!  Now everyone reach up behind you and give yourselves a big pat on the back, We deserve it, with all that we had to over come these past months, we deserve it.  All my prayers go out to the family of Sinna and Tiffany!  GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!  Much love and respects to you all......

 

To our instructors, thank you for all you have done too.  You are all awesome instructors, thank you for the patience and understanding and the willingness to want us to succeed. 

This week was...interesting...I got thrown in the fire a little bit.  I had to cover the front desk during a PSR meeting with one other biller from upstairs, and we got BURIED!  It was very unpleasant.  It really helped me realize how badly I don't want to be working the front desk.  I am working on obtaining my coding certificate, and am really excited about how far I can go in this field!

This week has been pretty good. I have developed a comfortable flow with my work responsibilities. I am not as challenged as I could be, but I am learning alot about the behind the scenes operation in Medical Records. I will be spending some  time in the Client Services department.

 

I have a interview next week!! I am looking forward to getting a "Paid" Full time job.!!!

I made the president's list for last quarter.  I'm so happy that things I've been working so hard to achieve has been slowly happening.  Things are still going good at Wallingford Pediatrics, I'm still doing all of upstairs, and Ashley doesn't seem to mind that I've been wanting to stay there as appose to going to my office and just prepping charts.  I enjoy that too, but I can do that while I am upstairs too.

This week at Valley Medical Center's Occupational Health Services clinic was great.  I FINALLY finished the MS Excel project I was assigned to last week.  It ended up taking 5 days to complete the data input (2060 entries!!!) and while that was monotonous- the table, graphs and charts I did to sum up all the data was totally worth it.  The nursing supervisor who had assigned the project to me was very impressed with my abilities in Excel.  Another highlight of the week was getting more familiar with the billing process, as I will be doing part of the biller's job while she's out for a month recovering from knee surgery.  With the responsibility of my billing duties, I feel very appreciated and trusted within the clinic.

 

I did learn a hard lesson, though.  I was home sick on Tuesday, despite all of the advise I received from coworkers about hand sanitizer (foam in, foam out!).  Moral of the story is: if you're working around sick people, the harder you must work at protecting yourself from grems and disease.  Be careful out there, my fellow MBIT people!

I know my hours are coming to an end very soon and that is with the extra hours too.  I've been feeling very apprehensive now and scared.  I know I can keep working there even past my hours, while i'm still going to school, and I know they like me being there.  I have shown I can do the work, although it isn't what i'm going to school for.  It's 10 minutes from home, I can walk home for lunch, I get 1 hour and 15 minutes for lunch.....

I know I've already said all this before but it's AWESOME!  There is a small posibility that I may beable to work and actually get paid, but it would be part time 20 hours per week.  Plus, Dr. Springer, the owner, doesn't want to hire any one at least until June.  I said fine, I don't mind still coming in and doing what i've been doing if they don't mind.  I'm hoping this will show that I really am commited to continuing working there.

If nothing else at least I know I can get some really great references from there.
