Week 9 - Units J and K - Creating Databases and Working with Data.
Unit J
Skills review - pages 245-246
Independent Challenge 1 - Pg. 247 - including the advanced challenge exercise
Indpendent Challenge 2 - pg. 248
Any other exercises in this chapter can be used as extra credit, should you feel that you need it.
Unit K
I'd like you to complete the Real life Independent challenge, page 275, however, I'm making a change to the requirements of the assignment.
There is no way to upload Access data to google, therefore, you cannot open the existing My Classes.accdb file.
Here's where you get to use what you learned in Unit J and then apply your creativity to the remainder of the assignment.
1. Create a DB that includes the 3 tables: Classes, Instructors and Books.
2. In the class table, include as text the following fields: Class ID (key), Class name, Class Schedule, Instructor ID and Class Location.
3. In the Instructor table, include as text the following fields: Instructor ID (key), Instructor Last Name, Office Hours, Office Location, Instructor Phone, Instructor email.
4. In the books table include the folllowing fields as text: Book title (key), Author, Class ID, and Data Entered By.
Then following the remaining directions as written.
Good luck!
As for the promised test. Here's what I'd like you to do:
From your Word and Excel Chapters, I'd like you to choose one Word Real Life Challenge and one Excel Real Life Challenge. Make any necessary updates/revsisions that you desire, and then resubmit them as your quiz. Please send them in a separate email from your Access homework.
All homework and your quiz data is due by Friday night, June 5, no later than midnight.
Be on the lookout for your final project information. This will take the place of a final exam, but the project will include elements from everything you've learned this quarter. | Week 10 - Unit M (with a tiny portion of N) - Creating a Presentation and PowerPoint
Unit M is largely about creating slides - useful, but Unit N is about making the presentation hum. I'm including a bit from N in your homework assignment, but you can certainly take the concepts from N and use them in your homework from M.
After viewing these two powerpoints (ironic, isn't it), Unit M and Unit N please complete the following assignments:
Unit M
Skills Review, pgs 317 and 318
Real Life Independent Challenge, page 321
Unit N
Real Life independent challenge, page 345 No need to attach the notes page as requested in letter i.
Each of your powerpoints should contain no less than 10 slides.
Your work is due by Friday night, June 12, by midnight.
Have fun!
For information on your final project, please see the navigation pane.
