Last chapter, Ch27 ppt, has been uploaded. Tomorrow you need to finish the environment, skin bacteria lab by looking at your samples and recording what you find. We will then watch a film about human population growth and global warming. You will be responsible for this material in the last lab quiz and the lecture final.

Federico Prado - Dec 12, 2009 11:32 AM

I just uploaded study guides for the last three chapters. The final will cover only chapters 15, 16, and 27. Besides what's on the study guides, you need to know the names (and how to spell) the three domains of living organisms, the four kingdoms of Eukarya, the differences between non-vascular and vascular plants, between seedless and seeded plants, between gymnosperms and angiosperms, characteristics of each group above, and examples of organisms in each group. At least 5 Phyla of animals, characteristics of each phylum, representative animals in each phylum. Characteristics of Funji, protista, Archaea, and Bacteria. Understand and define plate tectonics, survivorship curves, population growth curves, carrying capacity, age-structure diagrams, differences between density-dependent and density-independent factors that limit population growth (and examples of each), and the different ways in which competition is classified. Final is on Monday from 10:30 to 12:30, same place as usual. There will be 60 multiple choice questions (2 pts each), and 6 short answer questions (5 pts each) for a grand total of 150 points. Good luck!
