English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language classes are offered to adults at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Classes are offered both day and evening on our main campus, at the New Holly Learning Center, and on our Georgetown campus.

Conversation, pronunciation, reading, writing, grammar are taught in a combined skills core class with special emphasis on the skills for survival English and employment-related English. Teachers will help students choose specific skills to supplement their core classes.

All of our ESL classes lead students toward college and career readiness. To learn more about our career pathways, visit our I-BEST/Career Training page

The classes are limited, open entry. Before entering the program, students must take an English language placement test. Contact the Basic & Transitional Studies Office at (206) 934-5363 for more information.
